Dr. Barrett was named a Top Doctor for joint replacement in the September 2007 issue of Seattle Magazine. A nationally recognized joint replacement surgeon, Dr. William Barrett lectures globally on hip and knee replacement and is active in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' Continuing Medical Education program. He is a board examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
He designs hip and knee replacement prostheses and is involved in the evaluation of computer-assisted surgery in joint replacement and the use of tissue-sparing surgical options. Dr. Barrett is the medical director for Valley Medical Center's Joint Center and practices at VOA's Renton clinic. Dr. Barrett is the president of VOA Research Foundation. Studies include hip and knee replacement surgery outcomes, alternative bearing surfaces, computer assisted-surgery, and minimally invasive joint replacement techniques.
