According to the Arthritis Foundation, 46 million people (nearly one in five adults) suffered from arthritis or chronic joint symptoms in 2006.

Arthritis, other degenerative joint diseases, and joint injury rob people of mobility and independence. Although joint replacement patients are primarily over 60, younger individuals also benefit from the surgery.

Together VOA and partner hospital Valley Medical Center created The Joint Center, the first dedicated joint replacement center in the Pacific Northwest. The Joint Center is a leader in developing and implementing new joint replacement technology.
